PLAYA GUIONES.

Playa Guiones is on the Pacific side of Costa Rica on the Nicoya Peninsula and in the region of Guanacaste. It is a 7-mile stretch of white sand beach and 200 meters back from the high-tide line is protected for the sea turtles to come lay their eggs.

At low tide, the entire Guiones bay can be explored by bicycle or on foot. If you head far enough south, you’ll find several large tide pools that make for excellent snorkeling and relaxing. Past those tide pools you will come upon Playa Rosada or Pink Beach, which is an amazing place to spend a few hours before the tide comes back in.

At the far north end of Playa Guiones, you will see the old Hotel Nosara, standing tall with it’s unique spire. The hotel is now closed, but it makes for a neat place to walk around and explore. There is also a walking path to Playa Pelada that goes right past the hotel grounds. This makes for quick easy access to beautiful Playa Pelada.

Playa Guiones is one of the longest and most consistent surf breaks in the world - perfect for both beginner and expert surfers. World class yoga and amazing restaurants all combine to the ultimate vacation in paradise!

SURF

Consistent waves almost every day of the year makes Playa Guiones an popular spot for both beginner and experienced surfers.  Playa Guiones is a swell magnet and Punta Guiones (at the South end of the beach) juts farther out into the Pacific than many other points in Costa Rica. Because we are so close to the continental shelf, Playa Guiones picks up both North and South facing swells brining surfable waves here over 300 days a year. Inquire about surfboard rental options and reservations as well as private surf lessons with experienced surf instructors.

ADVENTURE TOURS

If you’re looking to ATV through the jungle, jump off waterfalls, or go zip lining, you will find no shortage of adventure tours in the Playa Guiones area. Visit the monkey reserve or stand up paddle down the river. How about a night visit to Playa Ostional to see the turtles lay their eggs (seasonal). Inquire about various tours and to make a reservation.
